Contemporary External Doors?
Contemporary external doors have a more simple look, and sometimes with accentuated, horizontal and vertical lines, if traditional raised panel front doors are not for you. The glazing is usually in bold, individualistic patterns or offset. Even so, they are still wonderfully crafted using the most exceptional materials and modern engineered techniques.
Our Contemporary external doors are 44mm thick and very solid. They also have an engineered core of solid block and particleboard, finished off with the finest quality of oak veneers.
Do You Need a Part L Door?
There is a part L option too for increased heat insulation. Each door comes with a Part L certificate to ensure building regulations are met. Many people are looking to save energy on their heating bills. It benefits the environment too. Part L doors are crafted with extra insulating materials built into their core.
Benefits of an Engineered Door
Engineered doors have many benefits. Traditional timber doors are prone to warping, moving, expanding and contracting within the changes of seasons.
They are also made up of a range of constituent parts joined together under intense heat. This ‘core’ is then cloaked in a high-grade veneer. This will ensure the door will hold together to create a solid body which will resist warping, movement and expansion.
Installation and Care
A qualified joiner is always recommended to install your door. Furthermore, four hinges are recommended for external doors and good solid locking mechanisms also.
Your door must be hung in a sound fitting, hardwood, external grade frame. Your external door becomes exposed to UV rays and the weather from the second it is hung. Good quality, weatherproof paint or treatments are recommended for all external doors to ensure they stand through British weather.
